I’ve also woven in some ideas on how to move through some of the areas and stats I see in the space.

Job Boards

I encourage not relying only on LinkedIn for job searches. It’s expensive to post, companies with great brand recognition don’t need to use it, and I get nervous about algorithms and what comes up for each individual. Open up a web browser and try a search with your title, industry, location, whatever is important, and here are some good resources for you to check out as well!
PS: Please avoid easy apply (Go to the company site and apply there), and networking is always the best!

Confidence in Speaking & Presenting

As a coach, working with professionals to grow, evolve, be relevant, and visible, I’m often asked things like: “How can I have a stronger voice in meetings and be heard?” or “How can I be a better presenter and be taken seriously?” or “How can I speak well when randomly called in so I can get to the point and not ramble?”

There is no shortcut to this. It takes time, repetition, and a commitment to wanting to evolve in this area.

I’m involved in a Toastmasters group. It is THE MOST supportive, safe place to not only learn to be a better speaker, but a better listener and leader. From practicing prepared and impromptu speaking to giving and receiving evaluations in a safe place where you will always leave energized and ready to continue to grow and evolve, you’ll also learn to be a better leader.

I have been with my chapter since summer of 2024, and I’m now the Vice President of Education for the Vancouver Club. You are welcome to pop in any Thursday @ 6:45AM PST (YES, it’s early!) to see what it’s like. It could be your baseline for a supportive, wonderful club at the very least as you can try out the many, many other clubs out there all over the states and the world.
